Collectors FAQ

Thank you for visiting. Whether you have a huge collection or are just starting out, I hope you will enjoy adding a Jonathan Powell work to your collection. A few works are available from my projects, but I also do several commissions every year.

Q: I like your work, but I’m a newcomer to buying fine art, can you help me?
Absolutely. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never heard of Picasso or if you have your own Museum of Art, we’ll help you every step of the way. Just get in touch to get things started.

Q: Exactly how easy is it to get one of your works? What is the procedure like?
It’s very easy. Just look over this website and decide what sort of artwork and what size you would like. Then get in touch on the contact page here to start the process. I work from photographs, which I will have to visit you to take. I am based in London and can travel around the UK, Europe and further afield. Once I have some photos I can set to work.

Q: What’s the timescale before getting my work?
You should allow at least a month, longer if you are not in the UK.

Q: A month?! This is too slow! Do you know who I am?!
Oh, sorry, I didn’t realise it was you! Sometimes works can be expedited for a fee.

Q: What if I don’t live in the UK?
I still need to visit you to take some photographs to work from.

If you are abroad please also take into account any import fees you may have to pay when the finished portrait is delivered.

Q: I can’t see any prices. Are all your artworks free?
No, sorry, they’re not free. Prices for my portraits are very high if you compare them to the price of bananas and very low if you compare them with the price of Bentleys. Prices depend on the type of image you desire – digital? Mixed media? Sketch? Painting? The price increases as size goes up.

Q: Tell me a bit about you.
I graduated from Camberwell Art School, part of London’s University of the Arts. I’m inspired by expressionist sketches and portraitists such as John Singer Sargent, Andy Warhol and Edvard Munch. As you can see on this site, I work using contemporary digital tools as well as more traditional paints and mixed media.
